Meet the family… Roy!

Roy, Official Dog Greeter

Roy joined the Claus Paws family in October, 2009.  He started out working “behind the scenes”, watching everything from a safe distance and rarely venturing up front.  Roy is much braver now, and he can often be found sleeping in Peter’s basket on the front desk or schmoozing with clients and their dogs in the lobby.  Oddly, he is not that fond of cats!  Roy is a sweet, loving cat and we are happy to have him on the Claus Paws staff.

Our Wonderful Team!

Chad, Lead Receptionist
Chad, Lead Receptionist
I’ve been with Claus Paws since March of 2005.  Working here has been an amazing journey and I have met so many great people along the way!

I have a partner of 10+ years, and a miniature pinscher named Diesel.  Diesel loves to ride the jet ski during the summer with us and will go just about anywhere we go.  Thanks for taking the time to get to know me, I look forward to meeting you!

Casey, Head Technician, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Casey has worked as a veterinary technician since July, 1997.  Before coming to work at Claus Paws in 2006, he practiced in Hawaii with a board certified veterinary dentist.  Dentistry remains one of Casey’s favorite things to do as a technician.

Casey is originally from Louisiana, and moved to Vancouver in 1996.  He then lived in Hawaii for several years, and has been back in Vancouver since 2006.  He plays guitar and loves watching movies and getting new electronic gadgets.  He and his wife have two cats, and Casey’s wife gave birth to their son in early 2011. Casey is getting used to running on less sleep than he previously thought possible since his son arrived!

Lisa, Veterinary Assistant

Lisa, Veterinary Assistant

Lisa’s love of animals was instilled in her during her childhood on a farm in the Hood River valley.  She got her first job at a veterinary clinic out of high school and remained there through college.  Lisa graduated from WSU with a Bachelors’ in Biology.  She spent six years as a research laboratory technician at OHSU, leaving to work in her family’s business.  She is now lucky enough to work part-time with her family and at Claus Paws.

Lisa is the youngest of six children and loves spending time with her big noisy family.  She lives with her husband and their four-legged children; two dogs and two cats.  When she’s not hanging out with her kids, Lisa spends her free time reading, doing crafts and pottery, gardening and being active outdoors.

Aleisha, Veterinary Assistant

My love for animals stems from way back.  When I was a kid I used to help my mom catch feral cats for the Feral Cat Coalition, and as a teenager my first job was a bather/brusher at my grandma’s dog grooming shop.  I just have a love for animals.  Bottom line is, fate had it in for me from the get go; Animals for life!  I graduated from the Veterinary Assistant course at Apollo College in February 2004.  Four weeks before graduation, I acquired a job at a veterinary clinic in Portland, Oregon and have been working as a veterinary assistant every since.

Presently, I am a proud parent of my daughter Lilyan Rosemarie, and my orange tabby cat Flint.  I enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, and taking a walk on the beach.  Most of all I love quad riding with my husband at the Florence Oregon Dunes.

John Claus, Office manager

John is the husband of Dr. Kathy Claus, is co-owner of the practice, and often states that he has “the strength of ten men”.   Always hard at work on a  number of other projects designed to keep Claus Paws strong and growing in the future, we can tell you that he has a fun sense of humor and keeps us laughing.

All joking aside,  John loves to talk with clients, and he works very hard to be sure everyone is a satisfied customer.  He believes that top quality care is the most important asset of our clinic, and is always working to help ensure excellent service to our clients and their pets.

Our outstanding team! Individual profiles coming soon, stay tuned…
